Parenting Therapy
It’s about guiding the next generation and forgiving the last
What does therapy for parents look like?
Raising children can be a demanding, overwhelming, and exhausting job, leaving parents often wondering whether they’re doing a good enough job. Therapy is a safe haven where you can be open with your struggles, fears, and frustrations as a parent without fear of judgment. It is not only a place where you can pick up practical parenting tools and build a stronger relationship with your child, but also an opportunity for yourself to receive emotional support and experience healing and personal growth.

Some parents, whether you are partnered or a single parent, simply need some extra guidance with their child’s behavior, emotional development, discipline, or communication. Other parents navigating divorce, separation or high-conflict situations, however, need help with how to coparent in a way that ensures a healthy environment for their child. Whatever your situation, you can expect to find a safe and supportive environment for learning, healing and personal growth.
How I can support you as a parent
As a counsellor who’s worked with parents since 2014, first through Family Preservation and Reunification services, and most recently in my office, you’re in good hands. I have worked with parents and their families in their homes, the office, and out in the community providing parent education, coaching & modeling, and therapy. I am also a Certified Parent Facilitator who’s worked with families as a whole across multiple generations who have experienced complex trauma in their lives.

Parent coaching
Parent coaching offers education and practical strategies for parents that is tailored for your specific parenting challenges. It is offered in a more structured and goal-oriented way than traditional therapy, but is often offered alongside therapy.
Coparenting therapy
Coparenting therapy helps parents navigate parenting through separation, divorce, or high-conflict situations. It focuses on helping parents improve their communication, coordination on parenting duties, and overall relationship in order to ensure their child’s well-being.
